Southwold Pier Ltd

Southwold Pier Ltd

Southwold Pier, a popular tourist attraction on the Suffolk coast, identified that in order to build their business they had to get the best out of their staff. Through working with the Beyond 2010 sector specialist, Southwold Pier Ltd evaluated their current business approach and decided on a training course that was right for their needs.

10 members of staff embarked on a ‘Business Skills for Managers’ course which was designed to teach them the key skills to good management. Through focussing on improving customer service, streamlining procedures and measuring sales performance, the team have grown in confidence and taken a positive approach to their work.

We are much more confident that the business is better structured than last year – by doing the training, we have prepared ourselves and can now cope with more business

Southwold PierThe flexibility of the Beyond 2010 programme has meant that the course has been delivered over a period of time, which has enabled the managers to put what they have learnt into practice. By training together, the managers have been encouraged to communicate between the different catering and retail operations on the pier, which has meant they are able to share their experiences and solve problems together.
